The author Nathaniel B. Shurtleff, was a physician, author, and three-time Mayor of Boston. This book is regarded as his most important work of writing and is a detailed account of Boston places.
Internally, this is a bright and clean copy with a very good binding. The large folding map at the back has a 3" tear near where it is attached to the book (with no loss of text).
