By Ray Bradbury

Published by The Limited Editions Club, 1982

Signed Limited Edition in original matching slip case. Limited to 2,000 numbered copies of which this is No. 696.

Signed by both Ray Bradbury, and the illustrator Jospeh Mugnaini.

To quote this book’s publisher’s words, this edition is fit to “survive the worst of Ray Bradbury’s nightmares”, and is  bound in silver alumninum which can withstand the temperature of 451°, the temperature (as Bradbury writes) “at which book paper catches fire and burns.”

The book’s aluminum cover is lettered and decorated in red and black. Striking black endpapers. Page edges are silver in color.

Original color lithographic plate at front, and 3 folding triptychs, reproduced in color from oil paintings by Joseph Mugnaini.

Condition Notes:

Slip case: Silver colored outside,  black velour lined: Good Condition, Clean, with some bumping and small exposure of boards at corners. Scuff marks from likely shelf wear on front and back of slipcase sides. Over the wording on the slip case spine, there is a faint scratch line that crosses between the “F” and “A” of Fahrenheit.  See photos or request more for further closeups.

Book: some scuffs and wear to the aluminum cover and bumping to the top corners above the spine. Otherwise very good. Pages are crisp, clean and bright.
