This is a set of letters written by the daughter of Ralph Waldo Emerson, spanning nearly half a century from 1846 to 1892. Her letters and journals provide a fine portrait of social history and life in the family of the noted American essayist, lecturer and poet and leader of the Transcendentalist movement of the 19th century. Beige cloth with blue spine, black and gilt title labels and slipcase in blue and beige to match the endpapers. Foreword by Gay Wilson Allen.
