Written by Beatrix Potter in 1907 for the Warne children, this story was not published in Beatrix's lifetime, nor did she illustrate it. The tale was first published in 1955. In 1970, Marie Angel illustrated the second edition (which is the book offered in this listing). 
 
Condition:  Hardcover in unclipped dust jacket showing original $2.95 price. 
Dust Jacket is in poor/fair condition with two tears on the front, signs of an old price tag, and signs of wear around the edges. 
Book is in good condition, some signs of age-related soiling around edges of closed book boards.
